Senior College of Belfast 2017 Annual Meeting Slate for the Board of Directors
The Nominating Committee is nominating the following people for 3-year terms on the Board of Directors:
Arlin Larson is a retired minister whose last pastorate was the First Congregational Church of Searsport, Maine. Besides having taught at several colleges, he has been teaching religion and philosophy related courses at Senior College since 2005, including one this semester titled Children of Abraham: Islam, Judaism, and Christianity. In 2012 he agreed to fill a vacancy on the Board, after which he was elected to his first full 3-year term. He served one year as Vice President, is the current Board President, and has served on the Archives Committee for a number of years.
Harry Kaiserian is a retired naval officer and college administrator. He has a long history of taking classes at Senior College, as well as membership on the Curriculum Committee. Harry has taught several courses—our resident foodie—and is on tap to teach The Evolution of the American Palate and a trio of movies with wine as the starring character. He is a current member of the Board and is incumbent Vice President. Harry is an educator through training, experience, and a “calling.”
John Economy spent 43 years in the dairy industry with Dean Foods, holding the positions of branch manager, sales manager, VP of sales and marketing, and general manager of Maine operations. He has been a member of the Community Service Committee and was responsible for expanding the school reading program. In addition, he has been a member of the Festival of Arts Committee, responsible for recruiting volunteers and assisting with setup and take downs.
Respectfully submitted,
The Nominating Committee:
Debbie Bailly, Chair; Arlin Larson; Harry Kaiserian; Jim Taber; David Boyer; Judy Beebe; Sharon Romanow; Dianne Smith
