Senior College members have shown great interest in Native American writers. One leading native writer, Louise Erdrich has a new book entitled “The Night Watchman.” In this class the book will be read together in sections followed by an online Zoom discussion.

Wendy C. Kasten, Ph.D., is Professor Emerita of Education (literacy, language arts, literature) has taught numerous classes for Senior College. She has taught multicultural literature, published peer reviewed articles on educational issues affecting children of native backgrounds, and worked on two different Native American reservations. Her doctoral dissertation was conducted on the Tohono O’Odham reservation in Arizona.
