Seeking Board of Trustees Nominations
The Nominating Committee is seeking nominations for the Senior College Board of Trustees for 2016-19 (three-year term). One may nominate another member, or oneself. Important: the nomination must be on a completed Nomination Form, found here on the Senior College website, or one may pick up a form in Senior College office. These should be sent to the Chair of the Nominating Committee: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Check the Senior College website in early May to see the intriguing selection of courses for this summer.
Festival of Art
This poster is an early announcement of our Annual Festival of Art to be held in June. The Belfast Bay Fiddlers will be back by popular demand for the festive opening night reception, which will also include a wine bar and an exceptional array of delicacies provided by our loyal volunteers. On Saturday, we are delighted to have Nancy Schroeder, talented local harpist, who will play from noon to 1:00 p.m. just prior to the presentation by our Special Guest Artist, John Whalley. Sounds great, right? Be sure to mark the dates on your calendar; a follow-up reminder will be posted in the May E-News. Our poster was designed by Sara Shute, to whom we are very grateful!
See you all in June –

Volunteers Needed for Festival of Art
Each year we request help from our Senior College members, as well as from the artists who participate in the Festival of Art. We need people to serve as Greeters, Security Guards, and people to provide finger food for our opening night.
If you can give an hour or two, or make something for the opening night refreshments, there are sign up sheets on a table in the atrium during the spring semester. Or, you can e-mail email@example.com. The small registration fee we charge artists who participate in the Festival does not cover the actual costs of the event, so volunteers are necessary.
Many thanks for helping out, it is much appreciated!

Senior College Service Committee
The Senior College Community Service Committee (CSC) now has a group of more than 10 standing members. The first meeting of this working committee was held during the lunch break of the second session of the Spring term. At this meeting, there was an eager and lively discussion of ways CSC might become involved to improve the lives of seniors, families, and children locally. While a number of creative ideas were floated which have potential, only one was voted on and adopted – unanimously! The program voted on is “Window Dressers.” This worthy organization provides storm windows to people who indicate a need. This project has the potential to benefit SC members directly who may need this sort of service, as well as others.
Watch for flyers, calls for help, and all sorts of participation in Window Dressers, as we all prepare for our next Maine winter. Volunteers will be needed for a variety of roles.
The next meeting of the CSC is during the lunch break of the last day of this Spring session, April 28 at 11:45- 12:45 in a room to be announced. We hope most of our members will be there. Interested in joining the committee? Email Wendy C. Kasten (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Marje Stickler (email@example.com).
