A huge thank you!
The Festival of Art held in mid-June was a great success and of course a big part of that was our Opening Reception, which featured many delicious treats. On behalf of the Committee, I want to thank the following individuals who made time to create something special for our table:
Nancy Perkins, Sandi Cirillo, Marie McMonagle, Marje Stickler, John Economy, Marie Underwood, Dorothy Alling, Priscilla King, Anne Dolbashian, Susan Higgins, Ginny Yarnell, Dianne Horton, Diane Drinkwater, Juliet Baker, Fran Torresen, Jennie McVeigh, Debbie Mitchell, Judith Long, Ann McKendry, Elaine Witt, Elizabeth Pollock, Deborah Jellison, Janine Gates.
Tall Pines Library
Tall Pines, the retirement residence in Belfast, has a library in disarray. Their activity director, Denise, would like help reorganizing their lovely room of books. Residents enjoy relaxing there but leave books out at random. This could be a community service project.
Call Marje Stickler 338-5059 to find out more and perhaps become a regular volunteer.
Window Dressers is a five-year-old non-profit organization based in Rockland. Communities up and down the Maine coast and inland build window inserts (interior storm windows) under the direction of the Rockland headquarters. Our goals are to reduce fuel costs and fossil fuel emissions, keep families more comfortable, and build community through working together.
Both the Searsport and Belfast community builds welcome new volunteers. Would you like to organize food for workers making inserts? Could you help set up delivery and pick-up schedules for finished inserts? Do you have some carpentry experience and could you supervise volunteers? We will also be looking for people to work in Searsport (October) and Belfast (November) making inserts.
Please contact Ray Smith (548-2141) to help in Searsport, or Corliss Davis (930-3562) to help in Belfast.
