Paper cutting, with a history of 3000 years or more, is done all over the world. Different countries have used easily accessible paper or buffalo hide to cut into designs for various purposes. In my courses I have always enjoyed exploring the way different designs reflect the different countries of origin and what WE can do with various papers and cutting tools.
My hope is that the participants will leave our sessions with comfortable cutting skills, new knowledge, and achieved work.
Retired from 40 years of Art Education in the winters, and a Graphics instructor during the summers. I continued to make paper cuts for my clients. These were all unique to the needs of the clients. In addition, some designs were made into note cards, prints, and golden ornaments. All because I cut too many snowflakes with my students over the years.
