  Join us to celebrate National Poetry Month! Bring your lunch and a poem to share during our open mic poetry reading on Tuesday, April 1 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM. Read your own poem or a favorite poem, or just come to listen.

  This Brown Bag Lunch event is FREE and OPEN to the public. You do not have to be a Senior College member. Registration isn't required, but it is helpful so we know how many attendees to expect.

• An Introduction to Green Burial: An Intimate, Earth Friendly Way to Say Goodbye

  Midcoast Maine Green Burial, a local grassroots organization, formed to create the formation of a green burial cemetery in Knox, Waldo or Lincoln County. They will host a one session illustrated presentation about green burial. They will introduce the topic of green burial and discuss how the practice sequesters carbon and preserves land. A member of the organization will also explore how the process can afford an intimate healing experience for the loved ones of the person who has died.

  This special presentation is FREE and OPEN to the public. You do not have to be a member of Senior College. Registration is not required, but is appreciated so we know how many attendees to expect.

  Jean is a founding member of Midcoast Maine Green Burial, www.midcoastmainegreenburial.org - a local volunteer group formed in 2023 to engage in education and advocacy for a green burial cemetery or hybrid cemetery to be established within Knox, Waldo or Lincoln Counties.
