Joseph Campbell said the basic theme of all mythology is “that there is an invisible plane supporting the visible one.” The writer Jean Shinoda Bolen spoke of entering a landscape where the veil is thinner, where we can “part the veil between the worlds.”
Working with the Tarot ferries us to that location. I think of a Tarot spread as a multidimensional map, or even as a dream that ‘agrees’ to stand still, allowing us to explore the symbolism and meaning. We will explore the imagery of different decks, examine the (sometimes) multiple meanings of the cards, and learn how to read and understand various spreads.
Class will be participatory and interactive with opportunities to volunteer for a reading and to practice reading cards.
Each person should have a Tarot deck of their choosing. I will also bring in decks from my collection and people are welcome to use them.

For many years I taught classes and did private readings. At some point because of my work responsibilities and commute I no longer had the time. I studied -- and it was extraordinary -- with Rachel Pollack and Mary K. Greer at the Omega Institute.
