This course will focus on learning about different artists throughout history who not only painted or did sculpture but had unique drawing styles. A few of the artists we'll be working with are Faith Ringold, Ilya Borotowsky and Buckminster Fuller. These artists and others we will study made many preparatory drawings before each painting or sculpture that they did; however drawings are often overshadowed by these other media.

This will be a hands-on class and is open to all drawing skill levels from beginner to advanced. Learning about how these artists influenced art history will be a major goal of this class as well as creating many drawings in their respective styles.

Please bring your own drawing materials to this class.

In-class work and homework assignments will be an integral part of the curriculum.

(Previous enrollment in Part I is not required.)
