Registration is closed

Four 1-2 hour sessions intended to guide amateur gardeners on winter maintenance and prepping for spring.

Sessions include:

1. Pruning trees and shrubs in winter, with local arborist Carol Herwig, plus other tips on helping your valuable landscape plants through the coldest months.

2. A session on tools and their care with master gardener April Daly-Cagnon.

3. Bugs - including emerald ash borer, browntail moth, hemlock wooly adelgid, and forest tent caterpillar, with entomologist Gabe LeMay.

4. When and what can you start planting, with local gardeners Dick Warren and Chandra Ellendorf.

This class will be presented with Belfast Garden Club support.

Instructor: Carol Herwig

Carol Herwig is organizing this program with input from Belfast Garden Club members and area professionals.

She is a International Society of Arboriculture-certified and Maine licensed arborist, and has a master gardener certification.

Registration for classes opens on January 13.
