Discovering, Rediscovering Women Photographers

How many women photographers can you name? Why is that problematic? Men’s work has been dominant and far-reaching. Women bring unique perspectives and subjects to their work.

Let’s correct that practice with this class, which is a continuing series, a survey look at FEMALE PHOTOGRAPHERS -- Some famous, some not, some you might know, probably many who will be new to you; often they are new to me!

Some alive women, and dead, older, and younger, an international cast. Lots of links and book titles for your winter settle-in... No need to have taken earlier classes, this will have all new photographers.

Instructor: Paul Sheridan

Paul has a BA in Art and an MFA in Photography, and for many decades was on the photography faculty at CUNY at many levels— Adult Ed to Graduate. You might say this class is a journey remembering photographers and teacher/photographers who have inspired him.
