Drawing Through the Ages...Part III

This course will focus on learning about different artists throughout history who had a unique drawing style. Some of the artists we'll be studying are Henri Rousseau, Winslow, Homer and Georgia O'Keefe. Lesser known artists like John McCoy, Robert Smithson and Harrison Bird Brown will also be studied.

This will be a hands on drawing class as we draw in these artist's styles and learn more about their life history. You'll enjoy a little bit of art history as you practice and hone your drawing skills.

Class is open to all drawing skill levels from beginners to advanced drawing students. Please bring your own drawing supplies to class (sketchbook, eraser, pencils, ruler, etc.). Class discussions and homework assignments will also be part of this five week course.

(Students are not required to have taken Drawing Through the Ages: Part I and Part II of this art history series to attend this class.)

Instructor: Sandi Cirillo

Sandi Cirillo has been an instructor at Senior College for over 10 years, teaching various classes in drawing, art history and fiber. She is also a teaching artist in the state of Maine and has been teaching many different classes working with arts organizations, businesses and adult education programs. She also does artist in residence programs through the local schools. Sandi is a fiber artist currently represented by Local Color Gallery in Belfast.
