Illusions: Tricks Our Brains Play On Us

Our brains adjust how things appear to help us navigate the world more successfully; illusions reveal these tricks of our brains that help us survive.

We will sample roughly twenty mind-blowing illusions, and as we look at these illusions, mostly optical, we'll discuss what they reveal about the workings of our brains and how we make sense of the world.

Instructor: Larry Rabinowitz

Larry has extensive college experience, with majors over the course of many years in five different subjects. This Illusions class is inspired by an undergraduate psychology class at UCLA in 1963.

He was (briefly) Director of Horticulture at a small tropical botanical garden in Sarasota, Florida. He was also the first to make plant labels there and the first to teach classes there.
