The Forgotten Original Church

In this class, led by long-time Senior College instructor Arlin Larson, we will explore the beginnings of the early Christian church following the death of Jesus. We will examine the original church through documents including Luke's account in the book of Acts and the writings of its opponents especially those of bitter rival, Paul. We will see that this original Church was overshadowed by the new Christian faith proclaimed by Paul.

The Rev. Dr. Arlin Larson is a graduate of the Divinity School of the University of Chicago. He has taught at Senior College since 2007 and served on its board and as its president. Since retiring as minister of Searsport Congregational Church, he and his wife, Sharon, have moved to Newnan, GA, to be near their son, Kyle, and family.
