This course offers a compelling and rigorous exploration of Mary, the mother of Jesus, moving beyond traditional narratives to uncover the historical woman at the heart of Christian origins.

Described by one historian as "the best-known, least-known woman in history," Mary is often celebrated as the Virgin Mary of the Gospels, yet her life as a real, historical figure—a mother of several children, deeply involved in the religious and political turmoil of her day—remains largely unexplored.
