Food, the Secret Sauce of History

We’ve gone to the moon, made computers and fought cancer, but the one issue nobody has ever solved is the eternal question: What to have for dinner?

Because humans need food, getting it has been the source of most history. Innocuous items in your pantry — tea, pepper, bananas —actually changed the world, and they keep changing it. Food is serious business and it’s good to pay attention.

This is a Zoom course which you can view in your own home. Or, with sufficient participant interest, you can attend with a group and watch it on the big screen in the Belfast Center Senior College classroom.
